Executive Management


Mike Sheehan, CEO and President Michael Sheehan, Chief Executive Officer and President

Michael (Mike) Sheehan joined Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in 2010 as CEO and President. A senior executive with more than 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Sheehan came to Thales from Cobham, where he was responsible for the operation and management of the company's Avionics Strategic Business Unit. Prior to Cobham, Mr. Sheehan served in executive management roles for DRS Technologies, Northrop Grumman, and BAE Systems, where he spent 18 years in various senior management positions in Engineering, Program Management, and Business Development. He has been involved in a number of tactical communications programs, including various JTRS and Link 16 programs. He began his career as an RF design engineer for the RCA Corporation, designing ground communications equipment.

Mr. Sheehan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. He resides in Glenwood, Maryland with his wife and three children.



 Aaron Brosnan, Vice President, Business Development

Aaron Brosnan is the Vice President of Business Development. He is responsible for developing and executing the company's business development strategies and growing the company's core business, including its next generation communications products. Mr. Brosnan came to Thales from SCI Technologies, Inc., a Sanmina-SCI company, where, as Vice President of Business Development, he was responsible for leading its new business initiatives in the areas of aviation communications systems and avionics products, ground tactical vehicular and command post communications systems, radiation detection systems, tethered fiber optic systems, and engineering services. Prior to SCI, Mr. Brosnan spent eight years with Thales, where he served in several key business development positions, most recently as Director, Business Development for Army Programs. While at Thales, he successfully led the initiatives in capturing naval and maritime communications programs and broadening the company's product portfolio to include automated, integrated shipboard high frequency (HF) communication systems. Before joining Thales, Mr. Brosnan held senior management roles, both in engineering and business development, at Raytheon Systems in the US and the UK. Mr. Brosnan is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he was a naval flight officer. He graduated, with honors, from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering. He went on to receive a Masters of Engineering Management from The George Washington University. His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.




 Glen Parker,TDSI Vice President of Contracts, and Trade & Legal Compliance

Glen Parker joined Thales (formerly Racal Communications) in 1992 as a Program Manager and has risen to his current role as Vice President of Program and Product Management. In this position, Mr. Parker has responsibility for the organization’s performance existing programs as well as defining the technology roadmaps for strategic product lines. Mr. Parker has more than 25 years of experience in the radio communications and defense acquisition industry. Prior to Thales, his career included systems engineering and acquisition management support to USAF/ESC for security system and communications equipment development and procurement. Mr. Parker received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.




Todd Borkey, TDSI Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Systems Solutions

Todd Borkey is the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives of TDSI. Mr. Borkey is responsible for leading the management of a diverse portfolio of businesses and products, including Sonars, Ship Combat Management Systems, Helmet Mounted Displays, Cyber Security, Training and Simulation, and Radars. This includes identifying additional business areas for company expansion in the U.S. defense and security market and leading the company's initiatives to extend the scope and reach within U.S. markets for the products and systems of the global Thales organization. Mr. Borkey came to Thales from DRS Defense Solutions, where, as Chief Technology Officer since 2007, he led the strategic planning, innovation, and IR&D process for its diverse $1.3 billion defense business. Prior to DRS, Mr. Borkey served as Director of Business Development for Northrop Grumman's Government Systems Division. Earlier in his career, he held a range of engineering assignments at AT&T Bell Labs and Sandia Labs. He received a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology and an undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics.








 Doug Bishop, Vice President of Engineering

Doug Bishop joined Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (then Racal Communications, Inc.) in 1989 and has served the company in a number of increasingly responsible executive positions to include Director of Engineering (1995 to 1998), Vice President of Engineering (1998 to 2006), and most recently has held the position of Vice President & Chief Technical Officer, Engineering and Information Technology. In this position, he is responsible for all product design and development activities including strategic and technical leadership of systems, RF/analog hardware, digital hardware, embedded software, digital signal processing, and mechanical engineering disciplines as well as information technology. Mr. Bishop is also responsible for advanced technology research within engineering for the advancement of Thales’ state-of-the-art, secure, and high-performance software defined communications systems. Mr. Bishop currently serves as an officer on the company’s Board of Directors and is also a member of the Government Security Council, Executive Senior Staff, Business Planning Council, and Executive Quality Council. Mr. Bishop is a member of the University of Maryland Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Mr. Bishop earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Maryland.
