Q1. How long has Thales Defense & Security, Inc. been in existence?


A. Thales Defense & Security, Inc. was incorporated as Racal Communications, Inc. in 1964.  In 2000, Racal became part of Thomson-CSF, and, in 2001, as part of a global change, the company's name became Thales Communications, Inc. As a result of acquisitions and intra-Thales mergers, the company expanded in 2013, increasing its technology base and product portfolio.  In October 2013, the company changed its name to Thales Defense & Security, Inc.
