Company Overview

Headquartered in Clarksburg, MD, Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI) is a global company serving the defense, federal, and commercial markets with innovative solutions for the ground tactical, airborne and avionics, naval/maritime, and security domains.

With over 25,000 engineers and researchers, Thales has a unique capability to design and deploy equipment, systems and services to meet the most complex communications and security requirements.

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. operates as a proxy-regulated company, Free of Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI). In order to mitigate potential FOCI, Thales, in concert with Defense Security Service (DSS) agreed to a comprehensive series of stipulations and requirements known as a Proxy Agreement (the strongest mechanism for FOCI mitigation).    As such, TDSI is approved to work on the full spectrum of US Government classified and unclassified projects, and is positioned to support strategic partnerships in the development of key technologies for the defense market. Thales’ Proxy Agreement started under Racal Communications, Inc. in 1986, making it one of the longest standing proxy agreements, established over 30 years ago.
