Steve Kutchi
Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer
Steve Kutchi is the Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI). In this role, Mr. Kutchi is responsible for all aspects of technology strategy and product design and development. He provides strategic and technical leadership across the organization and across multiple disciplines, including systems engineering, RF/analog hardware, digital hardware, embedded software, digital signal processing, optics, and mechanical engineering. In addition, Mr. Kutchi oversees all engineering services including engineering labs, model shop, engineering production support, integrated logistics support, and configuration management. His leadership ensures seamless operations, technology advancement, and drives innovative engineering solutions.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Kutchi joined TDSI (then Thales Communications, Inc.) in 2004 as a Principal Engineer and has served the company in a number of increasingly responsible leadership positions to include Manager of Mechanical Design & Engineering Support and most recently Director of Hardware & Support Engineering. He has contributed to the design of handheld and vehicle-mounted radio systems, sensors, and accessories for key tactical communications programs such as JTRS, HMS, P25, Iridium, Link 16, Army Leader Radio, EWC, and Combat Net Radio. His leadership has been instrumental in driving advancements in tactical communications technology.
