Michael Sheehan
President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael (Mike) Sheehan is the president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI), and has over 35 years of industry experience.
Prior to joining TDSI in 2010, Mr. Sheehan was a member of the executive team at Cobham Avionics, where he was responsible for the company’s avionics strategic business unit. Cobham Avionics provided a variety of equipment to both commercial and military fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Mr. Sheehan previously served as president of DRS’s Tactical Systems strategic business unit, managing businesses in Huntsville, Alabama; Melbourne, Florida; and DRS UK in Farnham, England. He also held executive management roles for Northrop Grumman’s Electronic Systems sector and for BAE Systems, where he spent 18 years in various senior management positions in engineering, program management, and business development. During this time, Mr. Sheehan was involved in a number of tactical communications programs, including Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), Future Combat Systems (FCS), and Link 16.
Mr. Sheehan holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University.
